Who We Are
InDeBudget started from one frustration: too many product review sites are either paid to promote certain brands, or so vague they are useless to anyone trying to make a real purchasing decision. We wanted something more useful than that — and more honest about its own limits.
InDeBudget is a small independent publishing project. We are not sponsored by manufacturers, we do not accept free products in exchange for positive coverage, and no brand pays for placement or a better score.
How Our Reviews Are Produced — Read This First
We want you to know exactly what you are reading, because it changes how much weight you should give it.
Our reviews are produced by an automated research pipeline, not by a reviewer holding the product. For each product we pull the published listing data — manufacturer specifications, feature details, and aggregated owner reviews including the critical ones — and generate the analysis from that source data using AI, under instructions to report only what the evidence supports and never to estimate a figure.
We do not conduct hands-on testing. We do not own most of the products we write about. Nobody here has run a stopwatch on a power bank or pitched a tent in the rain. When you read a number on this site, it comes from a published specification or from what owners report — never from us measuring it.
That is a real limitation and we would rather state it than dress it up. What this approach is genuinely good at is comparing a lot of products quickly, surfacing the complaints buried in three-star reviews, and flagging when a spec sheet does not match what owners actually experience. What it cannot do is tell you how something feels in your hand.
If you spot an error, an outdated price, or a claim that does not hold up, please tell us. Corrections are welcome and we act on them.

We focus on categories where the gap between the best-marketed product and the best-value product tends to be widest.
Our Principles
Independence
We do not accept manufacturer samples, paid placements, or sponsored content. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program, which is disclosed on every page. A product with a higher commission rate gets no preferential treatment. Scores are generated from product data before any affiliate link is attached.
Evidence over opinion
Every product is scored across dimensions appropriate to its category, derived from its specifications, its pros and cons, and the recurring complaints in its negative reviews. Where evidence for a dimension is missing, it is scored neutrally rather than generously. Scores are allowed to be low, and we do not round them up.
Saying what we do not know
If a product has a known flaw, we say so, even when it is the top-ranked option. Where sources disagree or a figure is uncertain, we give a range instead of inventing precision. And where we have not tested something, we say that too — which, as above, is everywhere.
Why This Still Matters
Influencer reviews are often paid partnerships. Retailer reviews can be manipulated. Plenty of comparison sites rank by commission rate rather than performance. We think a transparent research summary that tells you where its numbers come from is more useful than a confident-sounding review that quietly invents its authority.
